Ivory, Splitface
A splitface mosaic is a great way of showing off the "rockiness" of your stone installation. This incredibly visceral finish allows you (and your guests!) to have a look-and-feel at the stone that has built the colliseum in Rome and the Getty Center in Los Angeles. Like our Ivory tile, the Ivory Splitface seems to have a sort of luminescence of its own.
Splitface mosaic does not require grouting as each piece fits tightly together for a gapless installation. We've found that the best places for this mosaic are on borders (but not in a shower), feature walls, bar fronts, and fireplaces. Corner pieces can be made by interlocking the fingers at 90 degrees and using a hatchet to break off the ends that extend past the corner.
The most common question we get is, "How do you clean it?" This is why we typically don't recommend this product for backsplash. Even though most people don't actually ever splash on their backsplash, it would be little tricky to clean if you ever DID splash on your backsplash. Otherwise, it's easy to just use a brush or a vacuum cleaner to remove any dust.
