Sahara is a slate that tends to cleave very cleanly when it is split which renders a very smooth surface.  Its color variation consists of greys, tans, and deep rusts and ochres, but in a very specific way.  Unique to Sahara are the 'bands of color' that typically go between the grey and tan colors.

Sahara, while not suitable for exterior applications, is suitable for all residential interior applications.  For commercial, interior wall applications are best.
