The honed version of our Platinum slate is considerably different in how its patterned.  When the rocky layers of Platinum are cross-sectioned and polished, wonderous layers of mica and quartz are revealed. While it maintains its grey/silver color, it now can vary in how dark the grey is and by how many mica spears or speckles it has on the surface.  You also occasionally see spots of the deepest red (they almost look black) which are natural garnets that form within the stone.

This stone can be used in any application.  Even though it is honed, it is not polished enough to become slippery when wet making it an excellent choice in the bathroom.
