Indigo is one of our black slates but it has a unique characteristic of having a subtle silver sheen on some pieces.  When sealing with Miton 42, the silver sheen is diminished considerably but pieces that have a lot of it are still visible (as shown).  This gives the slate a soft, ethereal quality.

Indigo, along with our other South African slates, are slightly thicker than normal; typically around 1/2"-5/8" thick.  They are very dense and can take a lot of abuse in internal commercial installations but they can be prone to flaking when used on exterior applications.
